tennessee estimate

If Tennessee is 440 miles long, but 120 miles wide. When I multiply these two I got 52,800 miles as an  estimate area. But the actual area of Tennessee is 42,181 sq miles. So it is very close in estimate.

And the answer to why the formulas are the same, this is because even though the shapes are different they can still be multipled length times width and they would still have the same area.

ch 10

what i learned in geometry class was all about circles.
i learned how to construct a circle, calculate circmference, and area.
we learned how to measure shapes inside circles. also, how to create tangents.
We measured the arcs and central angles.
